Discovery
We begin with a no-obligation conversation about the person, the family and what you wish to preserve. You then receive a clear proposal covering content, price and timing.
Life film · portraits · memory book · handcrafted box
Skrín is a personal work of remembrance: a documentary life film, a portrait series, a memory book and the family’s digital archive, gathered in a handcrafted walnut box.
See what the family receivesA story you can hold in your hands
In brief
A finished documentary film shaped around an attentive conversation.
A curated portrait series created during the same calm recording.
Selected photographs and words gathered in a physical book.
The walnut box holds the book, photographs, letters and digital archive.
Skrín / skrín Old Norse
A box is made to protect something precious. For us, that means memories: the stories, the voice, the face and the small traces of a life lived.
We create personal works of remembrance for families who want to preserve more than a name and a few dates - and pass those memories on in a form that can be experienced again.
“Memories make the past
present again.”
The personal story
A voice, a laugh, a pause. Hands moving through old photographs. The smallest details often tell us the most.
We work gently and document truthfully. The result is honest, tangible and recognisable - without smoothing away the texture of a life.
Behind Skrín
by Grønne daleThat one day my children can see and hear who their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents were - not only as names in a family tree, but as living people.
Through photography, film and attentive conversations, I create a work the family can hold in their hands and pass on to the next generation.
From one generation to the next
We inherit photographs and names, but often not the voice, the laughter or the story behind them. Skrín lets future children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meet the person - not only the memory of them.
From first conversation to finished Skrín
A Skrín is created in close collaboration with the family. You know what matters. We help find the form, create calm around the recording and bring everything together as one story.
We begin with a no-obligation conversation about the person, the family and what you wish to preserve. You then receive a clear proposal covering content, price and timing.
Together, we select photographs, letters, places and themes. You receive a simple plan, so everyone knows what will happen without making the story feel rehearsed.
Recording takes place in calm, familiar surroundings. We capture the life conversation, the voice and photographic portraits with room for pauses and reflection.
The conversation becomes a film, the portraits are completed, and selected memories are brought together in a book, digital archive and the handcrafted Skrín.
The finished work of remembrance
Not a collection of loose files and memories, but a complete, curated whole. Everything has a purpose and a place.
A finished documentary story shaped around the life conversation, the voice and the memories that matter most.
A curated selection of finished portraits, with selected photographs produced as physical prints.
The film and digital images collected on a discreet USB drive with its own precise place in the box.
A physical book of selected portraits, photographs and words, protected in its own compartment beneath the removable tray.
The physical Skrín
The box is designed in American or European walnut with a low-sheen natural finish. Soft-close hinges, concealed magnets and a small flush-brass Mannaz mark create a quiet, precise experience.
Photographs, letters and USB are organised in a removable dark-olive tray. Beneath it, the personal memory book has its own protected compartment.
A closer look at the craft
Simple and precise on the outside. Inside, every memory has its own protected place.
Price / a personal commission
FromDKK 10,000
This is an initial guide for a complete, personal commission. The final price depends on the scope of the story, recording days, film length, chosen materials and the making of the physical Skrín.
After the first, no-obligation conversation, you receive a tailored proposal with clearly defined contents and one fixed total price before deciding.
No hidden extras. Travel and special requests are agreed in advance.
Terms / a safe process
A Skrín contains private memories and is created over time. Scope, responsibility, payment and rights are therefore agreed clearly before work begins.
The written proposal and order confirmation define the person, recording, expected film scope, portraits, printed items, the physical Skrín, delivery and price. Anything beyond that scope is only undertaken after written approval and may change the price and schedule.
The family appoints one main contact, obtains the necessary consent from participants and supplies photographs, letters and other materials on time. The family confirms that submitted material may be used for the production. Irreplaceable originals should be digitised or handled under a separate written agreement.
Recording is planned in calm, suitable surroundings. Grønne dale takes reasonable precautions and maintains production backups, but cannot accept responsibility for sound, lighting, equipment or locations supplied by third parties. If essential material is lost due to our error, we agree a reshoot or reasonable reduction.
The proposal states an expected schedule, starting when materials and approvals have been received. The family receives one review and one consolidated revision round within the agreed period. Additional revisions, editing, scanning, copies or post-approval changes are charged separately. Family delays move the delivery date accordingly.
The family owns and may privately use all final deliverables. Licensed music, fonts and similar elements remain subject to their licence terms and are not supplied separately. Raw footage and working files are excluded unless agreed otherwise. Nothing is used in our portfolio or marketing without the family's prior written consent. The final agreement states how long working files are retained before secure deletion.
Where Danish distance-selling rules apply, consumers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Starting work within that period requires an express request, and withdrawal may require proportionate payment for work already completed. A bespoke Skrín and other clearly personalised goods cannot be withdrawn once manufacture has begun. Later cancellation requires payment for completed work and documented non-refundable costs. A recording date may normally be moved once by agreement.
In case of illness or events beyond reasonable control, we first seek a new date. Neither party is liable for delay caused by force majeure. Any defect should be reported promptly so Grønne dale can remedy it. Mandatory consumer rights under Danish law always apply.
Unless otherwise agreed, 30% is paid at booking, 35% after recording and 35% before final delivery. The first payment reserves production time and covers initial preparation. Invoices are due within 14 days unless agreed otherwise in writing. The finished film, digital files and physical Skrín are delivered once full payment has been received.
This section is an overview. The specific proposal, order confirmation and full terms together form the final agreement.
